The children found a stone under the floor.

They took a magic adventure in a rocky valley.

They met lots of people.

They answered all the riddles.

They were going to the riddle moutain.

In the end of the last picture book,

The children met Goblins.

The Goblins put the children in a cage

and took the key away.

The Goblin King spoke to them.

“Answer this,” he said. “How do you want to die?”

Would the Goblins kill the children?

Why did they want the children to die?

"It's a riddle and I can answer." Hong said.

What will happen next?

Can the children get to Riddle Mountain and solve the hardest riddle of all?

The Goblin King looked at the children. 

His small eyes glinted and he snapped his long, thin fingers.

glint 发光，微微闪光

snap 通常是指 “裂断/绷断”，在这里是指打响指发出的啪嗒声。

Goblin 王看着孩子们。

他的小眼睛闪闪发光，他细长的手指打了一下响指。

"How do you want to die?" he asked. 

他问道：“你们想怎么死呢？”

Why did the Goblin King snap the fingers?

Maybe he wanted to say "hurry up!".

Could the children answer the question?

They all looked at Hong.

"We want to die of old age," said Hong. 

die of ... 就是 “因为什么而死”

die of old age 因为老了，所以死去。

洪说：“我们想老死。”

Is that the right answer？

"Grrr! That is the right answer," said the Goblin King. "So I must let you go." 

Goblin 王说：“啊啊！这是正确的答案，所以我必须让你走。”

The Goblin King was not happy.

But he had to let them go.

He opened the door of the cage. 

他打开笼子的门。

The children were free.

"Brilliant!" said Chip."But how did you know the right answer?" 

"I don't know," said Hong."I just did." 

"Let’s find the next riddle," said Ty.

Chip 说：“太棒了！但你是怎么知道正确的答案？”

洪说：“我不知道，我刚刚做了。”

泰说：“让我们找到下一个谜语。”

But they couldn't leave now.

The magic key was taken by the Goblins.

How could they get it back?

"The goblins still have the magic key," said Biff. "We must get it back." 

Biff 说：“goblin 还拿着魔法钥匙。我们必须把它拿回来。”

"Give us back our key," said Chip. 

"No," said a goblin. "We won't." 

Chip 说：“把钥匙还给我们。”

goblin 说：“不，我们不会给你们的。”

"Give it back!" shouted Chip. 

"Make us!" called the Goblins. 

Chip 喊道：“还给我！”

goblin 大喊：“你想办法让我们还给你呀！”

Hong had an idea. 

He spoke to the Goblin King. 

洪有个主意。

他和地精国王谈过了。

What's Hong's idea？

"We will ask you a riddle," Hong said. 

"You must give us back the key if you can't answer it." 

洪说：“我们会问你一个谜语，如果你不能回答，你必须把钥匙还给我们。”

"All right," said the Goblin King. "What is the riddle?" 

Goblin 王说： “好吧，谜语是什么？”

He grined.

He was full of confidence to this riddle.

It’s a piece of cake.

I am good at the riddles.

Hong wrote in the sand,1+1=6. 

"Make this work by drawing a straight line," he said. 

洪在沙地上写道，1+1=6。

他说：“画一条直线，使它成立。”

Can you tell the answer?

The goblins scratched their heads. 

scratch 就是 “抓啊，挠啊” 的意思

At last they said. "We can't do it."

Goblin 挠了挠头。

最后他们说：“我们不会做。”

Hong put a line on the "plus". 

"One, and one, and four add up to six!" said Hong. 

洪在 “加号” 上加了一行。

洪说："一，一，四加起来等于六！"

"Very clever," said the Goblin King and he gave Biff the key. 

妖精国王说：“非常聪明。” 并给了 Biff 钥匙。

The children went on. 

At last, they came to a fat desert. 

孩子们继续。

最后，他们来到了一个肥胖的沙漠。

There were strange shapes in the sky. 

strange 奇怪的 shape 形状

strange shapes 奇怪的形状

天空中有奇怪的形状。

Suddenly, the shapes flew down and whizzed over the children’s heads.

whizz 快速地，嗖嗖作响

突然，这些形状飞了下来，嗖嗖地掠过孩子们的头顶。

What were they?

Some kites?

Who flew the kites?

Why did they attack the children?

"Ouch! That one hit me," said Ty. 

泰说：“哎哟！那个打了我。”

The flying shapes were kites. 

The kites dived at the children. 

飞行的形状是风筝。

风筝向孩子们扑去。

Oh no！

The men who flied kites had 6 arms.

He was flying 6 kites at the same time.

"What is the answer to this riddle?" shouted the kite flier.

放风筝的人喊道："这个谜语的答案是什么？"

"I can be cracked, I can be played, I can be told, I can be made. What am I?" "I know this one," said Hong.

“我可以被破解，我可以被扮演，我可以被告知，我可以被创造。我是什么？” 

洪说：“我知道这个。

Do you know the answer?

"The answer is a joke."

答案是：笑话。

crack a joke 讲笑话

play a joke on sb 和某人开玩笑

tell a joke 讲笑话

make a joke 也是 “开玩笑” 的意思

So the answer is a joke.

What will happen next?

Could they answer all the riddles and get the riddle moutain?
