If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

如果你能在别人不知所措却对你横加指责的时候，保持清醒的头脑;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make allowance for their doubting too;

如果你能在所有人都怀疑你的时候仍然相信自己，并能体谅别人对你的怀疑;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, or, being hated, don't give away to hating, and yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

如果你能等待且又充满耐心，或者，从不用谎言去应付谎言，也不用仇恨去回击仇恨，既不故作正经也不夸夸其谈。

If you can dream and not make dreams your master;

If you can think and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat those two imposters just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools , or watch the things you gave your life to broken, and stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and toss, and lose, and start again at your beginnings and never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they are gone, and so hold on when there is nothing in you except the will, which says to them: “hold on!”;

作者简介：Rudyard Kipling 拉迪亚德•吉卜林 (1865-1936)，英国作家和诗人，出生于印度孟买。1907年，他成为英国第一位获诺贝尔文学奖的作家，获奖作品Tiger! Tiger!《老虎！老虎！》。其代表作品有：诗集《机关打油诗》、Barrack-Room Ballads《营房谣》、The Seven Seas《七海》；短篇小说集Plain Tales from the Hills《山的故事》、Soldiers Three《三个士兵》、Life’s Handicap《生命的阻力》、The Jungle Book《丛林之书》；长篇小说The Light That Failed《消失的光芒》、Kim《基姆》等。
