今天继续我们的绘本：“The Broken Roof”

Let's review the story.

The children were outside on the field.

But Someone had broken the fence down and dumped junk on the field.

In the pile of the junks, Mrs May found something interesting to teach the children.

She found a mangle.

Mrs May took the mangle into the classroom.

She showed the children how it worked.

Then, Mrs May asked the children if they had any old things at home.

Biff and Chip took the little house to the school.

They didn't say that the house was magic.

Wilf was being silly.

He climbed on Mrs May's table and pushed some books over.

The books fell on to the little house with a crash.

Biff and Chip took the house home.

Kipper had the magic key in his hand.

Just then the key began to glow.

Phew... It works.

in the adventure,

There were three children playing outside

and two men were mending the roof.

The children invited Biff Chip and Kipper to have tea.

Then, Cook told Edward to take some tea to the workmen.

Edward showed Biff Chip and Kipper his room.

The broken roof was in Edward's room.

The hole was gone.

The man was painting.

The roof of the house was mended.

How about the little house in Biff's room?

What will happen next?

The children went into Victoria's room.

孩子们走进维多利亚的房间。

What can you find？

There were lots of toys in Victoria's room.

I can see a rocking horse, a kite, 2 dolls, a boat, a ball, Tin Soldier etc.

Victoria 的房间里有好多的玩具：有摇摆木马，风筝，布娃娃，小锡兵 等等。

Victoria had a little room in her bedroom.

It was the one Biff had.

维多利亚房间里还有个小房间。

正是 Biff 的那个小房间。

"We keep toys in here,"said Victoria.

"Come and look."

keep 保持、存放

keep toys 存放玩具

Victoria 说：我们把玩具放在这里，过来看啊。

Biff, Chip and Kipper looked at the children's toys.

Biff、Chip 和 Kipper 看着玩具。

What lots of toys!

What did the children like best?

Chip loved the rocking horse.

Chip 喜欢摇摆木马。

"I wish we had a horse like this," said Kipper.

"So do I," said Biff.

Kipper 说：我们要是有个这样的木马就好了。

Biff 说：我也这样想呢。

They were all interested in the rocking horse.

Then，

Victoria took Biff, Chip, and Kipper into the little room.

维多利亚把 Biff, Chip 和 Kipper 带到一个小房间里。

"Come and see this," she said.

"What is it?"asked Kipper.

她说：过来看看这个。

Kipper 问：什么东西啊？

What's under the sheet?

Victria showed them a litte house.

Victria 给他们看一个小房子。

Yes. It's the magic house in Biff's room.

Who made it?

She told them that her father was making it for them.

Victria 说，这是她父亲给他们做的。

"It will look like this house,"she said.

"We know."said Biff.

Victria 说：很像我们的房子呢。

Biff 说：是的呢。

Yes. We know.

And there will be 3 little children too.

And It has magic.

Edward looked at Chip's watch and Chip looked at Edward's boat.

Edward 看着 Chip 的手表，Chip 看着 Edward 的小船。

"Do you want to swap?"asked Edward.

"swap" means "to give sth to sb and receive sth in exchange"

That means “交换”

Edward 问：想交换吗？

"Yes, please," said Chip, "then I can take the boat to school to show Mrs May."

Chip 说：好的。我可以把这艘船带到学校给 Mrs May 看了。

Suddenly the magic key began to glow.

"It's time to go." said Kipper, "but I don't want to."

突然，魔法钥匙亮了。

Kipper 说：该回家了，但我还不想走呢。

Look at Kipper and Biff.

They looked sad.

Chip was happy because of the boat.

"Will you come back?"asked Edward.

"We don't know,"said Biff."Maybe."

Edward 问：你们还会再来吗？

Biff 说：不知道呢，也许会吧。

也许 Maybe。

Because

They don't know when the key will glow again.

They don't know where the key will take them.

So, Maybe.

Good is always such a short time.

It's time to say goodbye.

The magic took the children home.

魔法把孩子们带回家。

Kipper looked unhappy.

I liked that adventure.

I liked the children there.

I will miss them.

Chip looked unhappy, too.

Oh no!

My boat became small.

Biff was happy.

She pointed to the little house.

They (The children) looked at the little house.

"The broken roof has been mended,"said Biff.

"How did that happen?"

孩子们看着魔法小屋。

Biff 说：屋顶已经修好了。

怎么回事啊？

"I don't know,"said Chip, "maybe Dad mended it."

Chip 说：不知道呢，也许是爸爸修的呢。

Did Dad mend it?

Maybe not.

Because Time always stands still in an adventure.

But who did it?

"I think the workmen in the adventure did it,"said Kipper.

"We saw them."

Kipper 说：我觉得是探险里的工人们修的，

我们亲眼看到了啊。

"I think it was magic,"said Biff.

Biff 说：我觉得是魔法修的。

How do you think the hole was mended?

"I liked that adventure best of all," said Biff.

"I liked those children long ago.

I'd like to go back and see them again."

Biff 说：“我最喜欢这次探险了，

我喜欢那个时候的孩子们。

我还想回去再看看他们。

"Me too,"said Chip,looking at the boat.

"Maybe I could get my watch back!"

Chip 看着小船说：我也是，

没准我还能换回我的手表呢。

在 6-11 的故事里，

我们已经讲过 me too 和 so do I 的区别了，

今天，我们再来复习一下：

me too 和 so do I 都有 “我也是” 的意思

1.---I'm 7 years old. 我今年7岁。

---Me too. (So am I) 我也是。

2.---I usually walk to school. 我通常步行去学校。

---Me too. (So do i) 我也是。

但是 Me too 呢，表示的是 和别人一样的意思，通常不含有动作的意味在里面。

比如说：两个人去水吧，

A说 “I would like a cup of coffee” B说 "Me too" 表示和A一样的.

So do I 一般表示，一个人说他做了什么，另外一个 表示自己也做了同样的动作。

A：I like playing football. 我喜欢踢足球。

B：So do I. 我也喜欢踢足球。

So do I 的使用范围要比 Me too 小。

如果别人说 “I like apple” 那么我建议你说 Me too.
