本品盘口，束颈，溜肩，肩部左右饰对称兽耳，兽耳面貌生动，不怒自威，鼓腹下渐收，承接矮圈足，器形敦实古拙，胎体厚重坚致。器内外施白釉，釉质温润，白中泛青，底部露胎。罐通身描绘六层纹饰，均以青花为装饰，口沿饰一周卷草纹，颈部部分两部分，束颈处饰凸弦纹，上部饰海涛纹，为元青花经典边饰，其表层图案细腻工致，甚具丹青之妙，在元代瓷器中诚属罕见，特别是画师对人物形象处理的生动传神，虽寥寥数笔，凝神戒备、蓄势待发之态栩栩如生，引人入胜，观之赏心悦目。整体纹饰丰满，繁而不乱，笔法细腻，线条流畅。
